Sinopec Launches ABS 275 to Address EV Thermal Management Challenges

Sinopec's new ABS 275 resin features 97.5°C VICAT rating & 31MPa tensile strength, targeting electric vehicle component manufacturers.

SHANGHAI, Aug 2025 – Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao today announced the commercial release of ABS 275, an engineering-grade thermoplastic designed for high-temperature applications in electric vehicles. Certified to ISO 306 standards with a 97.5°C VICAT softening point, the material solves thermal deformation issues in battery compartments.

Technical highlights include:

• Weight Reduction: 40% lighter than aluminum equivalents

• Mold Efficiency: 9.5g/10min flow rate enables thin-wall (0.8mm) designs

• Supply Chain: Halogen-free formulation complies with EU RoHS 2025

Notable adopters include Tesla's charging port covers and LG's TV back panels. Sinopec confirms ABS 275 production at its zero-discharge Shanghai plant, with ISO 14001-certified manufacturing.
